It's owl good!

Hey everyone, Ruby here. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Today I get the awesome privilege of sharing a completely NEW Wink Wink Ink image! This adorable little guy called Night Owl! Which I'm sure is loosely based on my mom when she's designing her stamps. One of the coolest things about this one is that you not only get the regular 4 .png files (see our about page for more on that) but 2 BONUS colored images! All 3 versions shown in this blog post come with the file.

I easily think Night Owl is one of my favorites EVER! I've always been a bit obsessed with owls (I even had an owl baby shower when I was pregnant with my oldest!) and I'm a more or less addicted to coffee (1, because it's yummy and 2, how else do you think I survive being a mama to a sassy, almost 4 year old and 14 month old twins?!) so you can imagine my reaction when my mom showed me this design: I went crazy for it! Check out some digi card examples my mom made!

This white version reminds me a bit of Hedwig from Harry Potter! The glitter background definitely gives it a magical feel, doesn't it?

I'm totally loving color scheme on this one!  Her little face looks so friendly and inviting...I'd chat over coffee with her any day!  Although the conversation might be a little one sided...

All of my personal coffee cups are this fun lime green shade, so I like this one a lot too. I also love how the feathers are colored to look a tad iridescent, just like real feathers!

Honestly, I really can't decide which is my favorite, but what I CAN tell you for sure, is that you definitely NEED to add this cute little guy to your digi stamp collection! Which version is your favorite?

Check out this cute sneak peek of our new fall stamps, coming soon! So many different and fun images we can't wait to share with you!

Thanks for reading! Until next time...

I quill make this a short post....

Hello, everybody!  I've been out of town all week without internet so I'm a little behind on things.  However, I do have a new stamp and 3 cards for you today!

Meet "Porcupine".   (My imagination for choosing names does not equal my imagination for drawing pictures apparently.)

As a Montana girl I have met my fair share of porcupines while out in the woods and I think they get kind of a bad rap.  They just like their space and they are pleasant enough if you don't go sticking your nose in their business.   I can appreciate that!

This image would be perfect for a simple "Hello" or Thinking of you" type of card.  However, it's also pretty easy to come up with some pun-tastic sentiments, if that's your thing!

I am getting very excited to introduce my new  Fall stamps in August!   I've also been working on a couple of freebies that you can pair up with some of our existing stamps to give them a whole new purpose for Fall.  Be sure to sign up to receive our emails (upper right side of this page)  so you won't miss anything!

Hope you are all having a fantastic summer!

Sunshine, a sweet treat, and a little peek at Fall stamps!

Hello, Everybody!

I hope you are all enjoying your summer.  I know I am!  There are fresh veggies ready in the garden, the flowers are blooming, and I have been drawing and designing up a storm! (More on that later!)  I chased this little guy all over the place the other day and finally got a picture with his wings open before he flew away.  Isn't he beautiful?!

I used a variety of stamps on the cards I've made for you today.  I've been trying to design at least one card for every stamp in my store.  I've had a couple of people ask about my design team.  I probably DO need a design team but things are just a little too uncertain at the moment in "moving purgatory".   It's one thing to fly by the seat of my pants by myself but dragging a whole team of people along for the ride would probably just make everybody mad at me!   So that's something I may be looking into after I am settled, whenever that is. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Sunny is a stamp I have had sitting in my store for awhile but I had yet to use him on a project.  The whole time I was making him I kept humming "You are my Sunshine" so it wasn't hard to decide what my card was going to say!  I had a much more flowery, feminine version in my head but this is how it turned out and I like it.  This would be a great card for guys or gals who light up your life!

Little Bird (as in "A little bird told me...")  is a great image to use on cards for surprising someone who wouldn't expect you to remember their special day or congratulating someone on a new bit of good news in their life.  I've included the transparent png sentiment in black below.  Just right click and save.

Light Hearted reminds me of when I was a little girl and every time I had a helium filled balloon I would skip along and then jump up in the air in hopes I might fly a little bit.  I never did fly and it's even less likely to happen today but I can still dream!

I have also been overhauling my Freebies page this week.  From now on all of the freebies will be the same quality as my stamps for sale.  I've also added pictures with links directly to the corresponding  file so you don't have to go hunting for it.  Not that there is much to search through yet but I have big plans!

This cupcake was on the page once but I took it down and gave it a major makeover this week.  It's been redrawn at a higher resolution, colored, and all the individual images now come in the 4 different versions of transparent png files just like the stamps I sell in my store.  So you can now easily layer the pieces and build yourself the perfect cupcake.  Yummy!

And lastly, I have a little sneak peek of some of the new Fall images I will be listing in my store in August!  Whether holiday images are your thing or you just like cute critters, I think I've managed to come up with a little something for everybody!

That's all for now.  Hope you all are having a beautiful day!

Wink Wink Blinkie!

I also made you this fun little blinkie!  I am NOT an animator but I have had this idea in my head ever since I drew my logo so I was quite determined to make it work!  After about a thousand little foxes with wildly spasming eyeballs, I FINALLY got it to WINK!   I don't think Disney will be offering me a job any time soon but I'm happy!

Anyway,  I would be honored if you wanted to use it to show us some love on your blog!

Just wanted to thank all my customers for making this month my best sales month so far!  You all are so appreciated!

Thanks for reading and stay cool!

Under the Weather

Hi, everybody!
I had something else planned for my blog post today but summer allergies had me feeling like my head was in the clouds most of the week.  Since I've been feeling a bit under the weather, I decided to pull out a half finished post I have been saving for a rainy day.  Okay, okay...enough bad puns.

In case you haven't figured it out, today it's all about "Cloudy"!  There are so many quotes about clouds and rainy days that work so well on encouragement cards. Humble, unassuming Cloudy, with his kind smile and hopeful expression, (and completely unimaginative name) is just the perfect image for comforting and gently lifting spirits.  He's simple, uncomplicated, and never clashes with any color I use with him.   And I'm finding that he gets along so well with so many of my other images!

Ribbon Rainbow Card

This is a card I made shortly before I found out I had to move.  I stuck it in my laptop bag at the last minute and now I'm glad it didn't get put in storage with everything else.  It always makes me smile and it's a great reminder that brighter days are always ahead of me.

You will need to print out 2 images for this card- the card front and an extra cloud.  I printed out the sentiment separately  but you could  just print it on the card front and it would still look really nice.  The font I used is Amatic SC.

I ran a tape runner across the widest part of the cloud on the card front and lined up my ribbon scraps over it.  I glued a scrap of cardstock over the ends to make sure they were secure and to give it a better surface to adhere the top cloud.  I folded the ribbon over to the back side and did the same thing on the other side.  I adhered it to the yellow card.  Then I cut out the second cloud and attached it over the ribbon ends with double sided foam tape.

I cut out the sentiment and inked the edges with Palette "Beaux Arts Blue" ink and also popped it up with double sided foam tape.  The final step was a little "Waterfall"  Stickles bling  on the raindrops.

Walk in the Rain Card

This is another card I made right before I moved.  Fortunately I had taken pictures of it so I can share it with you too.  It is a tall card, made to fit in a regular business size envelope.  I printed the card front on Reminiscence blue pearl cardstock.  It's looks really, really pretty in person, almost like the printed lines are hovering slightly over the surface of the paper.  It doesn't photograph very well at all, unfortunately.  (Or maybe it's just the photographer!)  I used the  Cloudy and Rainy Day images for this card.

The sentiment says "Maybe I can't stop the downpour but I will always join you for a walk in the rain."  I love that!  Such a sweet quote for someone who is going through a rough time.  Another nice thing about this card is that it would be perfect for guys or girls.

I printed out extra images on plain, white cardstock to layer over it with foam tape and give it a little more dimension but it would also have been pretty and definitely a LOT simpler without it.

I added Judikins Diamond Glaze to the raindrops, frog, and puddle to make it look wet.  In the photo above you can see the shimmer on the blue paper a little better.  Isn't it pretty?

I should mention here that I use a Brother color LASER printer for almost all of my projects.  I'm not sure how the Diamond Glaze would react with inkjet ink.

Under the Weather Card

And lastly, I have a digital "Get well soon" card that I just threw together, inspired by my really lame sense of humor at the beginning of this post.  LOL  I made it with Craft Artist Pro 2 software.  The stamps are Cloudy and Blue.  Cloud print paper and banner are both from Pixel Scrapper.  The font is Jenna Sue.

Don't forget we still have a coupon code ( KRAAFT ) for 20% off on everything in the shop through the month of June.  Special thanks to Heather from the  Kraaft Shaak for using my images on her show.  You can watch it here if you missed it.

That's all for now.   Thanks for reading!
